Material sustainability for us is very important and it manifests in all areas of our work. Eg. Most of the designs are reclaimed pieces or off-cuts of other processes. Due to that, there’s barely any material that is sent out from the studio for recycling.

We are challenging ourselves as a brand to diversify and reach to people around the world with the minimum physical set-up possible with a belief that an honest design has the strength to take its journey forward by its own and the pandemic has reinforced this idea for us. We also want to break free from the pressures of creating ‘collections’ and want to focus on products individually to avoid unnecessary material and inventory holding models.

Krithaa, as a label, showcases a journey of chancing upon a range of well-defined mechanisms to undefined discarded pieces from across urban environments. The design approach is subtle and understated, within its own celebratory realm. Hence, each product becomes a reminiscence of a person, place, time; and is non-specific to any gender and may not be called a jewellery piece.
The label holds an understanding that  ‘the jewellery wears the body part and the body is an impermanent carrier of the jewellery vestment’. Their mission at the moment is to make jewellery that can evoke some sensorial experience with the customer, it can empower the customer to express themselves in a non-conforming.
